Sonia Badreshia-Bansal, MD is a Board Certified Dermatologist and Dermatologic Surgeon trained at the prestigious Penn State, College of Medicine, Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident. Dr Badreshia has advanced training and expertise in cosmetic dermatology, acne, ethnic skin, and laser surgery. She serves the dermatologic and cosmetic needs of the Greater East Bay San Francisco Area practicing alongside her husband, Dr Vivek Bansal who specializing in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Their very unique combined dermatology and plastic surgery practice is appointed as a national training site for physicians on various new laser devices and clinical research trials. She is well known for her KRON Channel 4 Morning News Segments, “Healthy Skin with Dr Sonia” featured on Saturday mornings, helping to educate viewers on the latest and most innovative procedures.
Dr Badreshia is an author and editor to the medical literature, publishing regularly in scientific journals and medical textbooks. Dr Badreshia co-edited a medical textbook entitled “Treatments for Skin of Color.” She is a national and international speaker lecturing on various topics in skin care, acne, and skin cancer. Dr Badreshia is also an active proponent of public education and contributes to mainstream media outlets including American and Indian television, news, and magazines. Dr Badreshia has been the recipient of numerous prestigious medical, research, and community service awards and grants. She was recently selected as Dove’s “Next Real Woman” for their print ad campaign on beauty in Self Magazine in the December 2007 issue. She was recently named Global Dermatology Ambassador for Procter and Gamble. She has received a multitude of awards by the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS) and Women’s Dermatologic Society (WDS) and has received recognition by Who’s Who in America, International Health Professional of the Year, Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Research Award, AOA Community Service Award and contributed to the Guinness World Record, Participating in Most Skin Screenings in a Single Day. Her most rewarding activity has been the successful launch of a community program called LION CARE, a medical student-run homeless clinic that offers medical care to the local homeless community for the past 8 years. Dr Badreshia and Dr Bansal are currently collaborating on a nonprofit project to provide free cleft lip and palate surgery for underserved children abroad.
Dr Badreshia enjoys art and has received recognition for her work at the University of Southern California (USC) and in several medical publications. She enjoys her time on stage performing Indian dances and previous runway modeling. Great Doctor That Looks at Health Holistically - My experience at Elite MD and with Dr.Bansal has been extraordinary! Dr. Bansal is an expert and has greatly helped me reduce the inflammation in my body and solidify the amazing results from my procedure. I've never met a doctor that has looked at my health holistically like Dr.Bansal and I see great improvement in all areas. He always keeps it honest and real, and I love that he tells me what I need and not just want I want to hear. I had my fillers done today with Dr Sonia Bansal. She was so gentle and made sure I was comfortable. I had my Marionette lines done, under eye hollows and lines around my mouth. I used Juvederm XC and Juvederm Volbella. When I left, the results were amazing!!! I can't wait to see the results in 2 weeks. I highly recommend Elite Md. The staff are super friendly as well.
i went to Elite MD for fillers for my face and under my eyes due to hollowness, and also got lip fillers . I was so lucky and fortunate to have Dr. Sonia Badreshia-Bansal do the proceedure . There's no question that having a professional and experienced practioner like Dr. Bansal who absolutely addressed the concerns I have about the loss of volume in my face and underneath my eyes .
